Amanda Hanley by Design is a family business with many strands to it, from bespoke interior design, homewares, unique gifts, right through to their delicatessen.

All located under one roof in the beautiful Cotswolds in Burford, Amanda was ready to take her business to the next level, through brand development and a new website.


Amanda's real challenge was how to bring together the different strands of her business and communicate what she does, and offers, with her target audience.

A new website was a pre-requisite, but before that, Amanda wanted to really define the business, its identity and how that could be marketed effectively.


In order to really understand the business and develop the brand and its identity, I worked with Amanda on a brand discovery phase. After a series of interviews, research sessions and more, I was able to clearly identify the four strands to the business and how to position them as one.

This resulted in refined language to articulate the sense of what Amanda offers, which is then supported by more key messaging and a bepoke website design to convey that authentically.

Within the first hour of launching the new website, Amanda phoned me to tell me they'd just received a request for an appointment to review a whole house interior design project.

The prospective client had been on the website, really liked what they saw and phoned to make the appointment. This was incredibly exciting for Amanda and it confirmed all the thought and work into user journeys and how to make the brand resonate with the right audience was definitely off to a great start.
